Feather fall tests
This spell is meant to be a quick save, but seems to offer some more adventurous possibilities. I made some effort to see how it might work as a quick descent method, maybe to help surprise the enemy.
First I tried jumping from a cliff which was about one hundred feet tall :
A small jump seemed reliable enough, I could land reasonably accurately, within about ten feet of a spot approximately forty-five feet from the base of the cliff. A quite hard jump pretty easily gets me close to one hundred feet from the base. A running jump got me to almost two hundred feet, but it was not so easy to judge the landing spot.
From a two hundred foot cliff, a three step jump caused me to land between seventy and ninety feet from the base of the cliff. A quite hard jump brought me to between one hundred and fifty feet and one hundred and ninety feet from the base.
I tried a running jump from this height, with near disastrous results. I slammed brutally into another cliff face more than four hundred feet away. Jumping from more than one hundred feet at a run seems difficult to judge and very dangerous.
